My childhood at Christmas time was very like this. The presents to open, the Christmas tree in the lounge, a time for family. One of my favorite novels is 'A Christmas Carol', by Charles Dickens, which your poem made me think of again.

Wow, memorizing a poem every year for Santa is a beautiful childhood memory, I wish I had thought of that; the importance and vivid power of childhood memories is one of the themes behind this poem. Glad you enjoyed. :)

Oh! Christmas...I remember I used to memorize a poem every year, as a child, to recite it to Santa but, according to my mum's words - he comes at night to deliver the gifts, and, he is always in hurry because he has to visit all the children! :)
