Ghost Stories Poem by Lea Kardov

Ghost Stories

You used to tell me ghost stories.
Shadows on the wall kept floating like balloons.
Reminded me that we are in control of what to believe.
Embraced our world for the moment.

Ghost stories are all you gave me.
The invisible lines we took and bound to the sea.
It made me feel alive, made me feel free.

You used to tell me ghost stories.
Stories of kings and queens.
Of one that will fight the dragons.

Now the only ghosts are the ghosts from within.
Ghost stories don´t breathe anymore.
Torch lights are fading.

Hide and seek.
The princess saved the knight.
Somehow smiles on our faces didn't survive.
Your words rolled like marbles down the road.

We were like coloured water.
Run to live.
Painted stars on the night sky.
Realizing they were suns.
