Getting Married Poem by Randy McClave

Getting Married

Go out and get yourself a job
So, you don't have to beg or rob,
So, you don't have to ever again do without
I always told her as she would complain and shout.
Of course she wants the nicest things
Necklaces and pearl earrings,
And of course she wants newer clothes
And perfumes to tantalize the nose.
She wants to always go out to eat
Where it is always at someone else's treat,
And she always needs gas for her car
To again take her to the club or to a bar.
She wants to give her children the nicest presents
She enjoys taking them to the nicest shows and events,
And of course she lavishes to always sleep late
And never waking up because of a muscle ache.
But, a dollar she doesn't have in the bank
And never any gas in her fuel tank,
And when her bills finally show up, or come due
She seriously doesn't know what to say or do.
A job she is not enthusiastic to seek
And of course she don't want to work 40 hours a week,
She just wants someone else to take care of her
So, she can always do, what she does prefer.
So, she came up with an ingenious plan
Which involves any simple minded and very gullible man,
She wants newer clothes and gas and eggs and bread
So, she decided instead in finding a job, she'll get married instead.
