A wonderful and creative way to introduce the work of three vastly different poets on a equivocal subject. Those three passages can be read and studied again and again to gleam their invaluable insight.
Yogic mind reaches up to the depth of poetry an gives us feeling of light and knowledge. Bhagavad Geeta shows us path of wisdom and we get light of joy. This poem is very nice...10
2 - " self" is both friend and enemy to " self" ! Well, i guess it can be so. I like Savita's words and the others' are passable, and cause pondering. to MyPoemList bri :)
1 - " Where all they in their passing, resort " (in translation of poem from 'Isha') i don't understand the use of " resort" above. resort: " verb (used without object) to have recourse for use, help, or accomplishing something, often as a final available option or resource" Ok, use " resort" , but i'd delete the comma!
Thank you Savitaji. Its great on your part to find ourt something common with the philosophical attitudes of poets. When I read 'Paradise Lost' I did come across Milton's words, " Truth is beauty and beauty truth" reminding Sathyam Sivom Sundaram
Poetry do have an ethereal dimension! It nourishes and enthralls the mind and spirit! That's why poetry has a perennial impact and it is not given to all and sundry, but to the chosen ones and we poets can be proud to belong to that group. A profound stream of enlightened thoughts......!
In my " Μy own walls " Ι had tried to say something on the matter too.You do it here excellently, dear Savita.
Thank you so much Dimitrios Galanis for your uplifting comment. Glad you liked it.
You seem to be well worth in Sanskrit. If feel like, you may visit my series on Mahabharata, Geeta, The Song of Life, Words Well their Worth, and Jewels from Upanishad, and give your critical comments.
What uplifting thoughts! Yes, I agree about poetry's depth, rather than height. How so deep you dive into a rare poem, you are not sure you have explored it enough, how deep it really is. Height is always visible from outside. And how beautiful these quotes! asooryaa naama te loka andhena tamasaavritaa...Isha Upanishad, and then Uddharet aatmna aatmaanam, na aatmaanam avasaadayet.... fro B Geeta... and finally Emily D centred around that theme. The result is fabulous.
Thank you so much for reading and for your comment. I look forward reading some of your poetry series that you have mentioned.
Savita, it's amazing how many writings of east and west particularly of poetry correspond with each other. Through inspiration it seems the western writers of these works are able to tap into a universal language unless of course they themselves have read and been inspired by those ancient texts. Well done and thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for reading and commenting. Yes I too have observed this influence and connetion in many poetic writings. I believe many individuals reach these conclusions on their own, may be because these contain some eternal truths felt by mankind without any geographical boundaries.
A one of a kind write. Wonderful and informative. Brilliantly penned.
It is mystic, It is mesmerizing, It is the Yogic Triad Reaching the depths, Unknown! So true. your cogitations on poets mind. tony
