Genesis/Block Poetry Poem by Mark Heathcote

Genesis/Block Poetry

In the beginning
formless and empty
the waters
separated
and made the sky
the 'land, ' the sea.
And God saw seed-
bear fruit with various
vegetation:
According to the day
and light the sky the night
let them serve.
Sign mark seasons and
days and years
let them give light.
And govern lesser stars
set them in the earth.
Day and night, and
separate light from the darkness.
