I got a hearty laugh after reading this poem and comments by some prominent poets of this Site.Anyway, it is a tribute to our dear poetess Dr.Geeta Radhakrishnan Menon.Her poems certainly smell like rose, so fragrant, so beautiful! !

Khairul, you sent the same poem comment twice. you shouldn't waste too much ink! ! ha ha. i also agree, in part, with Kelly K., but he doesn't know exactly what inspired the 'shortening' idea; it was not exactly me! [ to be fair, most of my poems ARE LONGER than their titles.. ;) ] and i also enjoy reading some comments more than reading some poems on PH. thanks for the comment(s) . i shall now send this response to you also to your Inbox. bri :)
Leaving jokes and fun aside, Shakespeare says What's in a name! A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.. Well, i would say names do matter! Rose has to be called a Rose. Nothing else can take its name or smell as sweet. For the lively debate and discussion, a full vote for you dear Sir! 10

Geeta and Geetha are two different names, two different personalities! By adding an 'h' the name becomes 'heavier' perhaps with greater responsibility. Indian dance has sound syllables like 'Ta' and 'Tha'. Ta is the lighter tap with the leg while Tha is a heavy stamp of the leg. Perhaps, that's the reason my parents spelt my name as Geeta and not Geetha. :)
Geeta, my second wife said she weighed 140 pounds when we met, having recently 'lost' 20-40 pounds. she spelled her name Debbie. after a few months i noticed (on the checks she bounced) that she'd begun using Dhebbie, then Dhebbhie, and finally Dhebbhieh! all the while she was getting heavier, reaching 210 pounds before i shipped her to the slaughter house. i was bit heavier at the time of our parting. bri ;)
Geeta, interesting! When I met my 2nd wife, she weighed 140 pounds [saying she’d recently lost 20-40 pounds] AND she spelled her name Debbie. Over the next year or so she gained weight and kept adding “h”s to her name: Dhebbie; Dhebbhie; Dhebbhieh. Finally, after she’d gained 70 pounds (and 3 “h”s) and ‘other things’ had happened, we parted, my weight having increased 20-30 pounds to 230; I HAD to ‘protect’ myself! Bri :)

Geeta (my 'inspiration'! !) , your peals will have to satisfy you, as you will receive NO ROYALTIES when the poem becomes the next Bollywood/Hollywood joint venture. i, however, stand to rake in millions! ! and you are NOT the first woman i've known to go to sleep laughing! it usually happened to my wives when i failed to perform (properly) . thanks for being a fan! bri :)
Very nice suggestion Bri! If Geeta could be shortened to Gita, why not Radhakrishnan be changed into Radhak? ? But don't you know, each syllable counts! !
ALL OF MY SUGGESTIONS ARE GOOD! ! ....MY child-of-poetry! ! ! ! i did NOT SAY (did i?) that Geeta could be shortened to Gita, but.........of course it COULD BE. it ain't MY name, so why would i care! ? ? :) yes, i KNOW each syllable counts, but, FOR WHAT, i don't know. i figured -krishnan might be TOO IMPORTANT, for some religious reason(s) . bri ;)
