Which Gods to pray
which saints to beg
to intervene and stop the war
and the falling bombs
in Gaza and Lebanon?
So many people have died,
so many have been killed
so many are still dying;
who will answer for this genocide?
Has life no value
has humanity no respect?
where is the right to life
where is the safety to their existence
I ask.
As each one runs to see the massacre,
they fear their own tomorrow
for bombs come pouring like a rainfall -
sudden and certain to get them drenched
either in a whirlpool of blood or death
as the explosions damage
their homes and health so ruthlessly.
Can no one can stop the carnage,
can no one stop the damage?
how will people escape the wrath?
how will life gone on without their breadth
when all that is happening is hate and hatred
and no thought of peace nor compromise.
If only could leaders stand up in unity
and together seek an accord of ceasefire,
the world will bless those who have survived
with a hope of survival rather than dying innocently
as to live with dignity and compassion
is everyone's ego and necessity
and not confront wars that are so merciless
where lives are lost every day
and tears are cried so bitterly
when the departed members from their families
are rushed for burials
or the injured children are rushed to hospitals.
So, I ask myself
which God to pray,
which saint to beg to restore
peace in Gaza and Lebanon?
