Hank, what a clever idea, to equate the bars of humans to watering holes of the wild beasts! This gets a ten for the idea alone!
Kim, Sorry for the late response! ! In my younger years I spent plenty of times in those watering holes. I am lucky to have survived.
Excellent poem. Bars can be a risky place because many patrons drink to excess and will become angry or depressed. Bartenders often do not limit the number of drinks that can be ordered..My main concern is that many of these people decide to drive. Ma auto accidents are due to drunken drivers.
Gail, it is grand to have comments from my oldest sister. A second Mother to us all growing up. Helping mother with all the chores, cooking, washing cloths, making home made bread. Thank you, Gail! ! ! Perhaps the reader will like my poem titled " Gail's Song" .. At the bottom of the poem are two pictures of Gail and I, when very young.
