Ganesa 10 - Ashtavinayaka - A Pilgrimage Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Ganesa 10 - Ashtavinayaka - A Pilgrimage

Rating: 5.0

My Salutations
To the Ashta Vinayakas!
The eight manifestations of Ganesa,
Residing in eight sacred places,
In the fertile land of Maharashtra.

Varada Vinayaka temple in Mahad,
Mayureshvara Vinayaka temple in Morgaon,
Ballaleshwara temple in Pali,
Siddhi Vinayaka temple in Siddhatek,
Chintamani temple in Theur
Vigneshvara Vinayaka temple in Ozar,
Maha Ganapati temple in Ranjangaon and
Girijaatmaj temple in Lenyadri.

I worship and pray
To the wonderful Ashtavinayakas:
With true devotion and faith,
By offerings of flowers and fruits,
And a heart full of love and devotion.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is dedicated to the Ashta Vinayaka temples of Maharashtra.
I went on a pilgrimage of Ashtavinayaka temples in 20018, after I published my book" Jai Jai Sri Ganesa" in praise of Ganapati.
For those who have deep faith, Ganapati blesses abundantly with health, happiness and success.
Siddhi Vinayaka, Vinayaka, Vignesa, Ganesa, Ganapati, Gajanana are all names of the elephant headed God of the Hindu pantheon worshipped and adored by millions of people in India.

Great poem dedicated to Lord Ganesh who dwells in eight different forms collectively known as 'Ashtavinayaka' at eight religious places in the Indian state of Maharashtra. You have done well to give a brief description of each one of these forms. Thanks a lot, Geeta ji. Your devotion to the Lord is reflected in the following words- 'I worship and pray.... To the wonderful Ashtavinayakas:
