From what I know, Tony, of the Hindu and the three Abrahamic traditions, all have strains within them that proclaim and preserve the truth that love is supreme, and all have aspects that give religion a bad name, that are exclusionary and the antithesis of love. Gandhi, as I understand hi, was able to recognize and hold to the former. -Glen

Gandhi ji was a Mahatma - a great soul, who recognised the essential truth in religion and philosophy of this world. Any religion or philosophy, if it brings about hatred and violence, then it is no more sublime or worthwhile. There are still many who do not understand his symbolic acts.........10 .
