hmmmmm, ...................... What I read about Mohandas Ghandi...I come to feel that the ratio of his contribution for freedom is not as big as people usually talk about.By 1915 he return India when Congress was already acting/working as political party in India...untile then he was in South Africa fighting for South Aftrian Indians rights...Satyagraha movement...and when he returns he started his Ashram...and fighting for untouchables... so he was more a social reformer than a leader (IMHO) . Even he was call Mahatma because of his teachings to erase cast system and other things of Hindu society...
truely caricatured... words cannot express him, but you certainly did.
Thanks for being one with my feelings.this poem is an extra ordinary one as it tells an account of a person who was the soul of india.
ASIDE FROM MY FATHER, I HAVE 5 HEROES IN MY LIFE WHO IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE WORD HERO, ARE IN MY OPINION THE CONSUMMATE DEFINITION OF...THEY ARE ALL AMERICANS, EXCEPT FOR ONE...GHANDI....VERY FINE TRIBUTIVE-STYLE OF WORK, VIK, IN HOMMAGING ARGUABLY THE MOST REVERED, AND GENUINE LEADER IN WORLD HISTORY....JOB WELL DONE, VIK...WHERE ARE TODAY'S GHANDI'S? NO WHERE...TWAS ONLY ONE...THERE COULD NEVER BE ANOTHER.........FRANK/FJR
Much praise for your tribute to Ghandi's sacred soul whose message has only begun to enlighten the world. I especially love your beginning line of this poem.
he is my hero...lived a simple life true to only himself...what a man! ...forgotten...or rather not remembered enough...love...nalini
