Gandhi's Resurrection Comments

Rating: 5.0

Inside the grave, he's disturbed,
Turning sideways, haunted nightmares,
Startled and sweating, he opened his eyes
From beneath the soil, he woke up!

Even after hundreds of years from now people will rate Gandhi to be one of the finest 5 persons world has ever produced the others being Alexander the Great(?) , Shakespeare, Voltaire and Beethoven. But I differ with Valsa who says Gandhi would be much more ill fated to die a cruller death if he were to resurrect. The world has changed a lot but it does not mean the saviours of the world will always be eliminated and who knows one day another Gandhi will not re emerge from among our future generations?

Ghandi was a man of vision of truth and justice for all, the world needs the return of his humble and great influence of true goodness that will light these darkened times! Inspired and insightful write!

Gandhi was indeed a great man and the world needs Gandhi's spirit to set as a benchmark. All politicians should read about Gandhi before getting into office. A saying of his I will always remember is an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind, A great man and a good write.

It is interesting to imagine that Gandhi has resurrected and walks on to land. Surely there may be incarnations of Gandhi to save this nation from the grip of corrupt leaders and smugglers. But in this terror infected world, what can these non-violent Gandhis do? The young poet's imagination is superb. The use of apt diction makes the poem to be read again and again. Best wishes.

When things go out of control, the only option left before us is to hope for a xaviour who through some magic will set things right! Such a wait has been there from time immemorial! Gandhiji has been in many ways a xaviour for the people of India! But if he resurrects once more, he will have to die even a more violent death at the hands of an unruly mob! So let him lie quiet in his grave! A wonderful write much above the range of a youngster of your age!

nearly fifty years ago i was influenced by Gandhi's writings/actions when i chose to become what the american selective service system called a conscientious objector to war. this was when the u.s. military could draft young men into military service rather than depend on volunteers as it now does. i don't know if one person, even Gandhi, could produce the results you desire in India. but i wish you luck. thanks for sharing. bri p.s. when i read tablets i thought (as i used to be a christian) about the tablets of stone the bible (old testament) says contained the ten commandments (rules of conduct) which moses presented to his people. i see in one of the comments that another reader thought of tablets as a prescription, pills i guess. i like that thought better than mine, but either might work.

A quote from the play in which humanity is crying out for the lost leadership...we all are experiencing the same leaderless situation everywhere: Let us do something, while we have the chance! It is not every day that we are needed. Not indeed that we personally are needed. Others would meet the case equally well, if not better. To all mankind they were addressed, those cries for help still ringing in our ears! But at this place, at this moment of time, all mankind is us, whether we like it or not. Let us make the most of it, before it is too late! Let us represent worthily for one the foul brood to which a cruel fate consigned us! What do you say? It is true that when with folded arms we weigh the pros and cons we are no less a credit to our species. The tiger bounds to the help of his congeners without the least reflexion, or else he slinks away into the depths of the thickets. But that is not the question. What are we doing here, that is the question. And we are blessed in this, that we happen to know the answer. Yes, in the immense confusion one thing alone is clear. We are waiting for Godot to come - ” ? Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot — Godot is the symbol of a messiah for the bewildered souls in the labyrinth of the modern sufferings... your talent is above your age-the wording, the thinking, the presentation! ! !
