Gaining God's Grace Poem by Paula Glynn

Gaining God's Grace

God's grace not hard to find in this harsh life
I look within me for answers without blame
I no longer feed the evil fire to the pain
Never fake-nice or cleverly insincere
Always respectfully true to myself,

Fixing myself before fixing others
Never the martyr, never the killing fool
God's destination somewhere on earth
Where no bad smell haunts a person
Where a person is never gullible but understands,

Finding solutions from the experienced soul
Knowing gaining God's ultimate grace
Like an angel to a harp that plays beautiful music
Their angel wings stretching across the sky
Their holy white feathers sending a message of love,

Knowing blood must never spill
Knowing one will never choose to kill
The soul sending a heartfelt message
That love does unite the wonderful people
People who read the news and are all too fearful,

Where familiarity does breed contempt
People of the world trapped in prisons of all kinds
The governments all too selfish and blind
Their actions unnecessary and brutal
But when God's grace appears like a rainbow,

You'll sing your own choice of tune
You'll never let go of your pride
Your life precious: even to this old fool
For I may be considered as such but
I do know I am a holy angel and love everybody.
