the fur hats and angels
we reach a point
where we reconcile
our vows to be peacemakers
calamity a pause is over
we hope one new day of year
we live our best lives
overindulged and sensible
loving our loved one this hour
for us now the story
rekindle our cares or by solemn
foibles a drink our new day begins
we give it time a whole year
in an instant be merry and light
be welcome not fraught our world
needs us our reach and each other
