This is very powerful verse. Indeed there are times when we learn when we do not receive as others do. The blessing comes in taking the lesson, and not falling into the trap of envy, or loathing, or desire or rage....This poem reminds me of what I've been asked on occasion, about would I take back or go back in time (if possible) and undo some of the worst things that have ever happened to me.
