This is one of my favourite poems. It has greatly influenced my poetry. Auden did a fine job.

I've first saw, or read, this poem in the movie 4 weddings and a funeral, and i've became completely devoted to him. I can't choose better words to explain such pain, such love like thoose wrtitten in this poem. In my humble opinion this is one of the best poems ever written.

This poem is so powerful-it is simple and eloquent, and it expresses the depths of grief in a way anyone can understand and relate to.
