Fruitcake And Cherry Pie Poem by Dorsey Baker

Fruitcake And Cherry Pie

Clothed in the bathtub
soapy water
covering up your body
its just you
laughing the way you laugh
crying the way you cry
step out of the soapy water
eat the fruitcake
and taste the cherry pie

You will have to face the darkness
before you can clearly
see the light
Morning is morning
until morning become the night
Clothed in the bathtub
the soapy water
covering my body
its just me
laughing the way I laugh
crying the way I cry
I'll step out of the soapy water
that covers up
my body
Eat the fruitcake
and taste the cherry pie
