Frozen Future Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

Frozen Future

Rating: 5.0

All plans in limbo
Days spent in securing the present
In a war zone

The enemy is invisible
The enemy is everywhere
In the air, on the surface

Fear in everyone's eyes
Fear for the safety
Of one's near and dear ones

There is work to be done
Someone needs to go out to do it
Putting one's own life on the block

Few volunteer to do it
Only a few brave ones
Others stay back to cheer

And the brave ones fall
Gaps appear in the frontline
That needs to be filled up

How long can this go on?
Oh Lord, how long?
The question hangs in the air!

A beautiful poem. You are writing so well but you hate your state poets. I find you have a very good foreign collaboration...Best of luck

The enemy Through the veins of wind Invisibly carries the venomous teeth And brings melancholic death Before the eyes......
