From The Tears Of Juliet Poem by Ekwueme Kelechi

From The Tears Of Juliet

Ear the sound that glitters from my gullet
Which once smoothened your drumming heart
Hearken to it to see the soul
For which you took the last drop

Romeo, the name that runs in my vein
The ceaseless speech of my heartbeat
Tell me what I can do to unlock you
From the present shackle which has hardened you?

You bought the last ticket to see me
Not knowing I alighted in search of you
Tell me the name of the woman who took you to the altar?
For I seek to see you freed

From this unknown marriage of emotion
My Romeo, find life in the tears of my cry
And come back to me
If you can't, then I will meet you over there

Where the sea of love does not dry
