From Sunlit Beginnings To Twilight's End Poem by Dee Gey

From Sunlit Beginnings To Twilight's End

My heavy footsteps trace the path we walked,
To a place where we once said our sacred vows.
Now sorrow flows through the hands of time;
In every corner, your absence still chimes.
The airport looms, a distant farewell,
Each heartbeat drumming a mournful bell,
Tears fall like raindrops on the tarmac gray,
As I carry our memory that is fading away.

We danced in the sun where flowers bloomed,
The garden of dreams where our love was groomed.
But petals have withered, the colors all fade,
Leaving remnants of the promises we made.
The bittersweet taste of what used to be,
The silence I carry like you're still here with me;
But shadows grow long as the moments slip by,
With each heavy step, a reluctant goodbye.

With every tear that I let gently fall,
I'm saying goodbye to the love of it all.
The clouds weep softly as I take to the skies,
Your memory flutters like birds in disguise.
This heart may be broken, wrapped in pain,
But our love's gentle whisper will always remain.

As I leave this place—no laughter, only tears,
I'll be haunted by the shadows of all those years.
