I'm the poet who wrote this and just saw this here and thought it worth mentioning the entire final stanza is missing from the poem as printed here. You might Google around if you'd like to see the complete poem.

So do you see where all our displeasure is leading? like this: a very good story-poem from all her displeasure, so very cleverly worded, I am amazed: fired 14 times? ! Even going to bed with the man who's your boss doesn't work either. Great irony in this masterful writing. My hats off for the great poetess. Enjoyed this sublime poem. Congratulations on the appointment of The Modern Poem Of The Day by Poem Hunter and Team.

I enjoyed savoring this pretty nectarous piece. Its crisp-worded turns leave one yearning for more...no wonder it's been picked for the Poem of the Day slot: -) Thanks, Erin, for crafting & sharing this titillating poetic masterpiece!

Usually being fired is not a pleasant experience, but you find something in it to compensate. It must give you a sense of freedom, at any rate.

I think with this honest and carefree attitude you should use this as your Resume. Loved it!

I've been fired, and strangely there is something liberating in it, a perversity of freedom, I may lost a pay but now I can say what I want to, to a boss. Love this poem!

Up until 15 years ago I had resigned from 35 jobs. This poem is well written and it has caliber. I wonder if there is any money in poetry Erin? Or money in writing? If only you had a lottery windfall then you could back your new business as a writer. If you do have money to start a business, then I would give that business idea a bit of thought.
