From Dust To Dust Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

From Dust To Dust

From earth we came, to earth we go,
Like ashes fade, a soft, white snow.
Dust to dust, the old words say,
Our bodies rest, then slip away.

A tall tree stands, so green and bold,
Its branches reach, a story told.
But time goes by, the seasons turn,
And back to earth, it slowly will burn.

From proudest wood, to humble ground,
New life begins, where rot is found.
For beetles creep, and mushrooms bloom,
A quiet gift, from leafy tomb.

So life goes on, a circle deep,
Where secrets hide, and nature keeps.
The fallen tree, a home so grand,
Returned to earth, with helping hand.
