From Dust To Ashes Poem by Laquory Jones

From Dust To Ashes

Does the things I really feel make me humane
I've struggled in life just to be able to feel your pain
An empathic human is what I became
While carrying the battle of wits and its burdened
Shame life for me has never been the same
But I was always taught to go against the grain
That's how we'll conquer this domain
Anything negative I must refrain but it becomes clearer
Each day that things will never be okay but hey
Isn't it what they say "It must be for the greater Good"
As people witness crooks knock on wood
With a complete disregard of the lives they took
Leaving the world as they once knew completely shaken
Shaking up the pages in their unread books
The innocent are force to look at these destined
Crooks perhaps I'm just talking out of mind but there's
So many thoughts in mine never can keep them align
Perhaps that became my zodiac sign as they split through
Streams of time I was always scared of what I would truly
Find like would I ever be able to leave people behind
Knowing that they needed me in the knick of time

Chorus
We rise from the dust and then fall back to ashes
The people of young telling our stories in fractions
As a little piece of ourselves survives in fragments
It's time to take hasten actions
These problems that we face as of today
Reshape our tomorrows in unique ways

What is it really like to be a Human
That's what I'm constantly asking myself until I'm too
Engulfed in flames but ironically no one would ever feel
My pain (Richie what a selfish thing to say)but it's the
Truth I never had a reason to lie to you but I guess that's
What people do it's in their nature (true)but don't we all
Deserve a few (truths)families are suppose to be like glue
But cracks seems to falter through in the fibers of the fabric
One lie and then another lie behind it destined truth lies in
Fractions but not one has the power of extraction so we
Remain divided in sanctioned factions as elders rise up
Tensions and not to mention the fact that no one seems to
Listen causing mainly friction especially during intermissions
But it's my life I live in people's only aim are pensions
With cruel intentions words hitting with pristine precision
As we rise from dust and fall back to ashes

Chorus
We rise from the dust and then fall back to ashes
The people of young telling our stories in fractions
As a little piece of ourselves survives in fragments
It's time to take hasten actions
These problems that we face as of today
Reshape our tomorrows in unique ways
