I can relate to this, it's easy to talk to acquaintances and get along, but really rare to find a true friend.

A common subject for a poem is asking for comparisons with others on the same. This is bold but not always successful. The writer has created a new venue for his search and must be commended for such. The second verse is also commendable. The heart of success or lack of it is answered in the first and third. GW62

A ture friend, someone who stands by you through thick and thin. When one finds such a friend they are to be treasured and treated with respect, kindness and love. It is difficult to find true good friends, we do enjoy the everyday people, those we meet for the first time and those that are our associates, we appreciate the time we spend with these people but truly value time spent with those that certainly care about us. Wonderful write Vidyadhar. Melvina

A fine write! The theme is one oft explored, and you express it beautifully with some pertinent metaphors too! Liked this one, immensely!

This poem has a strong message and a pleasing rhythm that brings out the best in the words you use. I especially like the irony in the final stanza. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Very good insight... we are quick to call many people 'friends' but it is certainly a deeper connection which should be treasured only between a few... lovely poem.

You are right in each word, true friends are like precious treasures. In this self imposed world, difficult in true sense to find one.... Great work

It is true true friends are rare and precious, and that one should be able to make out the difference between ones who are just passing their time and the ones who feel a true emotion for us. Nice poem, Vidyadhar.
