Every time you walk out
With a protest sign
In your hand
or pumping
Your fist to the beat of
The drum of freedom
Against injustice
And inhumanity
It's a risk
That you take
But it's a risk
Worthy of being taken
Every time
You step out
Nothing to back you up
But your faith
The spirit
Within you
Is awaken
And the fearless
Steps that you take
Be well assured
They are worthy
Of being taken
Every time
You speak out
To give a voice
To the voiceless
They are precious words
So worthy
Of being spoken
They just might heal!
A heart that is
Wounded and broken
You risk yourself
Being wounded or killed
Because you know
Freedom
And justice
Is a worthy cause!
