'Ask Jesus in Your Heart'
'Repent of your sins'
'Receive forgiveness'
- -In Jesus' name

My Story:
when I was young sermons were sung
at churches then called 'Calvary'
the message was a call to repent
from all of my sins
so that my Holy God could save me

then 'Greg' - -the pastor said to all,
'Just ask Him in, He's your Father God, and Jesus Christ will save you! '

So young I thought, ' Saved from what? '
what could I, so young, ever have done?
that at my age...I'd need saving from?

as an innocent girl of thirteen
always singing out with glee
Singing to and for the Lord
in and out of churches galore

what was this possible evil sin
what could this 'Get Saved! ' minister mean?

So, just in case,
my little heart accepted Him in
and said the repentance prayer
off I walked with a bible in hand
transformed and lighter from there
with the freedom of knowing I had zero cares

Years have past
between now and then
the little girl now a woman
If ever I saw a round the bend
the temptations in just plain livin'

I've gone off out of God's free will
and wandered off again
I go ahead or on my own
and Jesus brings me back

I try not to gratify the flesh
and put my 'self' in check
but just when I think that I'm okay
I see I'm leaning from His path

My weakness is a thorn in my flesh
we all have them
some are same
some different
Mine are always there
covered in prayer...
Only He can straighten what He alone has bent


Spiritual Warfare

My soul fights war against my heart
my heart wars against my spirit
being fights in worldly things
flesh with out wings
eyes blocked for my protection
then mind reeled in
to combat sin
to guard against the enemy
defeat not me in Victory
I stand in God's full armor
but you'd be surprised
to one's demise
the unseen war
that goes on daily


in exchange for your soul
a free gift of love
ultimate forgiveness
from the God of all gods
King of all kings

heart, spirit, and soul
