Fractured Earth Comments

Rating: 5.0

A bleak wind blows, and all in sorrow dwell,
the fractured earth sings out her requiem -
upon her form, unquenched, a raging hell,
around her head, a fading diadem.

You put it well, on how we treat our home the earth. Current stats say we are using 1.5 of earth's resources. Unless we change the wind you speak of will become bleaker and bleaker. Thank your for you challenging words

An eye opening poem where you described how ruthlessly we are destroying the beauty and resource of the mother earth, just to fulfill our greed and fancy. But we dont know that if it continues in this way, very shortly our existence will be in question. Thanks for sharing your concern here.

Your words describe what man has done to nature, totally destroying the beauty of it's essence, taking away the future of it's beneficent purpose on earth. We can only hope the greed in man stops ruining all of our woodlands, allowing our children to be one with nature and knowing of it's intrinsic value in our lives. Great poem, Val! Thank you for speaking out on these truths, may people heed your words. RoseAnn

The wings that fly above and a bleak wind blows across make this poem entirely interesting and really nice poem shared on.

Sums it all up for me, Valerie. So much truth contained in this stark message. Let's just hope that we have not passed the tipping point, and that common sense will at last prevail. A great poem, written with conviction, compassion and dare I say it, love for the common man/woman.
