Forgiving Is Love's Toughest Work Poem by G.B. Smith

Forgiving Is Love's Toughest Work

Forgiving is love's
toughest work
and love's biggest risk

If you twist it
into something
it was never
meant to be
it can make you
a doormat

worse yet an
insufferable manipulator
forgiving seems
almost unnatural
our sense of fairness
tell us
people should pay
for the wrong they do

BUT

forgiving is love's
power to break
natures rule so
cherish your friendships
give and take but

NEVER

let not forgiving end it
you are loved
never forget that
true friendships
know no bounds
live well
love dearly

AND

forgive

*

often
