Forgiving Poem by Randy McClave

Forgiving

Forgive others as a victory won
And for all the wrongs that they have done,
For all the lies that they have told
And with their falsehoods being bold.
Forgive them for all their stealing
And for them never emotionally healing,
Forgive them for the false promises that they made
And for the dirty games that they played.
Forgive them for talking behind your back
And for the backstabbing and all the verbal attack,
And forgive them for forgetting who you are
Especially when you both drank from the same jar.
Forgive them, not because they deserve forgiveness
Especially when from pity they are trying to impress,
And if once more you feel or see that sin
Forgive them, once again.
Forgive them when your head or soul starts hurting
From their slings and arrows start averting,
And when you want your worries to truly cease
Forgive them, because you deserve the peace.
