Forgiveness Poem by susette varga

Forgiveness

Rating: 5.0

Although i'm hurt
And feel great pain
I am strong enough
To forgive

Although confused
I understand
Vindictiveness
Albeit underhand

Has a funny way
Of restoring your calm
And the inner peace
That you desire

Although it's painful
I can cope
I'll take it
On the chin

The need you feel
To lash out
Borne simply out of spite
Refreshes me
Comforts me
Silly as it sounds

As knowingly
I can see
The path
Ahead of me

With confidence
I'll forge ahead
Giant steps i'll take
My conscience clear
I loved with heart and soul

To love someone
Unconditionally
Sets one apart from
The rest

My heart is true
As i wish for you
Only the very best

In time you will see
I was no fool
The only fool was you

Written by a person that has felt that. Forgiveness is a conception. If that is what you use to describe your release, I understand. Most, if not all, emotions come from unrestrained responses. Unproductive! Let it go! But don't forget the lessons.
