The poem is very sad but it speaks eloquently of how most of us feel sometimes, and that makes the poem relevant to a reader. I read it as a reader and not as a writer, and it does touch the human side of us all. The resolute last lines redeem the hopelessness conveyed in the first few lines, leaving a message of challenge...of trying again.
