Forgive Me Lord Poem by Daniel Strickland

Forgive Me Lord

Rating: 5.0

Forgive me Lord, for my sorrid past
one so deserving of your awesome, mighty wrath
Give me one more chance, Lord, if you would
to prove to you that I can be good

I ask your forgiveness, Lord, for my not being true
and for taking advantage of all the things you do
seldom stopping to appreciate all the gifts you've bestowed
never thinking for a minute how much, to you, I owed

I now look in my mirror and all that I see
is a broken down man, whose spirit does bleed
Help me, oh Lord, to climb out of this hole
so that I may work for you, passionate and bold

I ask you, dear Jesus, to forgive all my sins
so that through the gates of Heaven, I may enter in
Thank you, dear Lord, for dying for me
and sparing me from Hell and Satan to cleave
