Forgetfully Yours Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

Forgetfully Yours

You say that we were friends?
Might have been...
How long ago was that?
For years we have not met...
Or have we?
My memory churning like a whirlpool
Some sunshine, some cloudy skies
Are they real or imaginary?
Are you real or imaginary?
In this tunnel of time
Where all of us are
Time travelers
Going backward and forward
In our minds
As per our whims
I don't wish to return
To the good old days of yore
That you so lovingly remember
But I do look forward
To sunnier days
If you consent to walk with me...

There is a positive ending to the poem. Lines flow so smoothly. Beautifully inked.
