Forever Lone Poem by Sven Rhoads

Forever Lone

I was not the one who chose this life
Was the life that had chosen me
Somehow, someway I've come to survive
The outcast of society

To be more of myself
Is to be less of you
Forevermore to feel the needles in my chest
To go the life astray
And not to fall in line
Forever lone before the everlasting sky

To see from a different point of view
To value the brutal, undeniable truth
Going against the grain
Walking through the rain

I will not be swayed to join a side
If it does not speak the heart inside
Beyond the surface lays so much more
But so very few will come to realize

They just see a drop in the ocean
But I'm a different shade of blue
Those owls dance in the dead of night
While I am howling at the moon
