Time slips away like the setting sun,
and memory fades into just a single one.
There is something deeper in the shadows,
there is something more on the page that yellows.

Like a flower I have come and will go,
I will never return from where I do not know.
These days have passed all to fast,
it will not be long ere I am a part of the past.

You may doubt me for my demeanor,
and think me a fool for not being sharper and keener.
But never doubt the words of my parting,
though you do not yet know my heart is smarting.

In all the lands I have walked all my days,
I have seen many a wonder in all the world displays.
When my eyes found you I knew,
that you were the fairest amongst so few.

No matter where I am going away,
I will love you forever and for always.
May you live with joy and peace tender,
and know at the end that I love you forever.
