A wonderful, insightful and perceptive write. A stern warning against addiction. May this poem, will in one way or another, prevent the same. Very well written and onto my Poem List.
Such good, ad vice. Yes, addictions kill You've put it In such a way That those that Read it, May stay away Thanks to your good Advice, And Poetic skills. Well done!
Thanks, Sandra. That was my intent- - a poem with a warning message. This was a very hard poem for me to write. I lost my baby brother due to drugs and his excessive alcoholism. He was the youngest sibling in my family, and he went before any of the rest of us.
I'm so sorry to hear that. Yes, it must have been very, very difficult for you to write! I salute your courage and your valiant warning to others. Only the brave and good of heart can be so generous.. I admire your courage and your caring heart, very sincerely.
Sandra, we are so lucky that we write poetry. That's a beneficial and acceptable addiction! :)
You're so right! Some may laugh and not believe, but poetry is a great blessing to us and not in disguise. You are blessed too! I sincerely mean it.
Addiction is a vicious cycle. It will bring you down down down. A good write on how the forbidden fruit will swallow you up and lead you to a premature death! Nicely done Practicing Poetess.
Thanks, Aqua, as always! You should read my 'Dancing the Night Away.' More our style, my fellow connoisseur of all things romantic! : -)
