For You. Poem by MIRAK Montiel

For You.

For you,
I would silence the storms of every sea,
Scale the silence of the highest peaks,
Only to cradle your heart in my hands
And promise it peace.

I'd walk barefoot through fire,
Not to impress,
But to light your way—
To show you where forever begins.

Every flower I'd cut
Would carry your name in its petals,
Each bloom a whisper
Of your beauty etched into creation.

I would battle the fiercest beasts of fate,
Trade my breath for yours if it meant
You'd smile one more time.

Even a second with you—
A fleeting glance across the stars—
Would be worth a thousand lifetimes
Without light.

I would freeze time,
Still the turning of the world,
Just to lie beside you in the quiet
And count the galaxies that orbit your eyes.

There aren't enough words
Spilled from the pens of poets,
Not enough verses inked across eternity,
To say what you are to me.

Maybe I love too deeply.
Or maybe the universe miscalculated
By giving me only one life
To love you in.

So let time race ahead,
Let the world keep spinning.

I will slow down.
I will wait.
So that you and I
Can stretch this love beyond hours,
Beyond lifetimes,
Beyond the skyline—
And into the stars where love never ends.
