For Them All Of The Glory Poem by Francis Duggan

For Them All Of The Glory

For them all of the glory the adulation and fame
The winners by their fans lauded after the big game
In life as in sports it is much the same
The winners for themselves always make a name
And though losing is something anyone does not choose
For one to win someone else has to lose
The losers do not live on in memory
This is how it is and how it always will be
The winner can afford to have a smiling face
But it takes one of courage for to lose in grace
And congratulate the winner with a handshake and well done
And admit that the better one on the day won
The applause is for the winners it is always this way
And for the losers it is a forgettable day.
