For The Love Of Life In The Usa Poem by Paul Buttigieg

For The Love Of Life In The Usa

I've taken pity on today's American teenagers
Most are lost in a world of technology
Playing computer games loving the violence
Shooting up schools in America with no apology

Geeks and Nerds some have become
All geniuses loving the gaming fun
But who's neutralizing their will to kill
Why can politicians not remove access to the gun?

The rules are you'll be allowed a weapon
As long as you're a citizen of the USA unarmed
The National Rifleman's Association so powerful
Has every young kid brainwashed and charmed

So then a kid with a high powered right
Decides to take up his licence to own
A gun capable of rapid fire killing
And he can store it pending in his home

Something will trigger his desire to kill
His darkened thoughts are brewing in his lost mind
He needs to test the waters now
And attack his school he felt treated him unkind

There's no thought of a plan or patience
It's all out attack and violent rampage
Just like the gaming consul taught him
Shoot, murder teachers and children no care for age

But hey this is America our great ally and defender
We are Australia our kid's don't have guns for play
So who is protecting the life of school children?
For the love of life in the USA

God Bless America my arse
