For The Girl Who Carries Stars (My Amrith) Poem by Pramita Kaur Sidhu

For The Girl Who Carries Stars (My Amrith)

You came into this world
not when they expected you—
but exactly when you were meant to.
Week 26,
small, fierce,
a whisper between worlds
who chose to stay.
From your first breath,
you taught me
what it means to fight
without fear.
You came fragile—
but you were never weak.
To you,
I leave not just gold,
but something far more rare—
a map of becoming.
Let it guide you
when the world tries to tame you.
Be brave, my love.
Braver than silence.
Braver than pleasing.
Choose yourself—
even when they say you shouldn't.
Especially then.
Your heart is vast.
Let it be soft without folding.
Give, but don't shrink.
Feel deeply,
but never forget:
your feelings
come first.
You are not here to carry others—
you are here
to fly.
Travel far.
Let cities kiss your skin,
let oceans teach you your name again.
Let joy chase you,
and let it catch you often.
And when the noise is too loud,
or the world too sharp—
come home; come to me
I will always love you
before the world asks you to change.
And long after you do.
You are my beginning,
and my beyond.
And one day,
when keys and doors and quiet envelopes
carry my name,
know this:
It's not the gold I leave that matters,
but the freedom it gives you
to choose your life
with open hands
and a full heart.
Everything I built—
I built with you in mind.
So you would never have to ask
if you were worth it.
You always were.
