It should be so every day, but I suppose I'd settle for one to start with. Reminded me of John Lennon's 'Imagine'. The world has enough natural disasters without people killing each other too. Ruthie

It all begins with the first day. I may not be able to do something for ever but I may be able to do it for one day. What a great Idea I'm in I'll promote this idea wherever I go to day. Paddy

For one whole day - so little to ask, so much to gain...Like John Lennon's 'Imagine' it fades into darkness, thank you for drawing our attention back to the importance of a small step at a time for world peace

if one day works...maybe they could extend it to a week...or a month.... why not a year.....it's so sillly... they should extend it forever! ! !

I pray the same. but I know it won't be. I want peace for kids most.. too many live in fear. it is saddening. your poem made me smile... give peace to those around you, then they would give to those around them. and it would spread.

Profound thoughts from an extraordinary poet. If only we could experience that day. But even if that perfect peace does not come in our time, we can make peace person to person across all barriers of race, culture or creed.10/10. Always your friend, Sandra

This is the one whole day the world celebrates Very informative very lyrical... This poem inspires me to think beyond.. Now there is a crave for one such day for all Inside their doors... to be free.... Yes.. Its true that one this whole day many would have gained But at the same day many would have suffered silently or otherwise Inside the doors...No binding there, no causes there... Good read. Made me explore a little more issues too Thank you, dear poet.

A very meaningful piece Bob, which carries an important peace message to the world. If only all nations were to observe the one whole day of peace and realise the benifits to mankind in general....but that unfortunately is still only a distant dream....Hopefully it will be realised at sometime...10+++

What wonderful thoughts Bob. If only.....I appreciated the footnote you have added to bring some more knowledge to us. I sometimes think, what would people from outer space think if they looked down on our world and see ridiculous humans attacking each other, killing each other, blowing each other up! ! ! What stupid human beings some of us are....we must all try to love and care for each other and believe it is possible to work together. As always, you write deep and such meaningful poems. 10 love Karin

This's the hope and prayers of so many in this world Bob...But the superpowers of this world will never allow this to happen....But we live in hope...and with our faith we will reach peace one day....But I fear more blood will be spilled before this heavenly day comes to us.....The freedom we'll all feel...But will one day be enough to start reshaping this world reading for the following day...when we return to the choke hold...the goverments have placed us in...with their greed.....This poem says so much...it points to the efforts that will be needed for our world to succeed in reaching peace....or at least get the world involved....life's too short....and the promise of peace at the end of life's struggle...sure does seem like heaven to me.....well written...great topic...that's powerful in meaning and touch 10

BOB, In this world full of violence, expecting a single day of Peace may sound like wishful thinking! But let me join you in our prayers for that single day, bringing peace on earth and good will amongst men! 10! - Raj (PS.Photos of those sweet peas were great!)

From: Suzanne Hayasaki (FUKUOKA Japan; Female; 43) To: Bob Blackwell Date Time: 9/29/2009 8: 51: 00 AM (GMT -6: 00) Subject: For One Whole Day Isn't it sad that even one day of peace is too much to ask for the whole world? I wonder how warlords look out at the world they have created and rationalize their actions. They must manage to do it, but I can't imagine how. I love your poems. You have such a gentle way of hoping!
