Nice poem from a father to a beloved daughter. Did not like the ending though: until you join me in darkness and silence together. Morbid.

Breathtaking, Fathers can seem remote as stars growing up in adulation and a bit of fear but, you always know they're there. So, maybe to name one twinkling guiding gift for father can be one twinkling guiding gift from the infinite created by Our Father. The poem is more than sentimental. It is true.

people used to confuse me with his daughter-I remember them...She was lucky to have such a thoughtful dad honor her with his poem... I believe her name was 'Yadi'

I met David Ignatow many years ago in East Hampton where I spent part of my teen years.Ironically this is the first time I have ever read any of his poetry.my brother Fred knew him.I like his direct approach and this a very sentimental heart-felt poem.Peace.Many tens and stars
