I read this three times and every reading impressed me with how much you compressed in twelve lines. On the page this is a short poem, not a wasted word, in fact very few words. But in the reader's imagination it unfolds and tells a story with probably complications, even set backs. No matter. When we come back to the poem, it's once again an intensely lived moment, which seems to be free of ordinary duration. The intensity is what matters most. And yet the poem is wise - it acknowledges this is not permanent but it is a perfect memory and a perfect poem.

Sounds like you are very happy. Love the poem...and the simpleness of it yet to the point...... ah...........the point of no return! But, just for tonight.!
