For (and about) Valsa George *: Five Limericks (or limerick-like poems)

* For years Valsa entertained 'us' on PH with poems; some were even funny!
Our misfortune is that she left PH for 'greener pastures'; no, she did not die.

The Poems:

Shotgun 'Mister George'

'V' became a poet while......ill in bed.
I don't know if it's true; it's what she said.
And she said 'My man owns a gun';
[[ I'd teased her Re bedroom fun. ]]
I stopped teasing; alive's better than dead!

PH's Loss

P-H lost Valsa when it changed,
when features were altered or rearranged.
Now some improvements are made;
there is 'sun' after the 'shade'.
There's hope PH's not, after all, deranged.

Valsa And Bharati Go Drinking

V. and Bharati live in 'The Subcontinent'.
They got 'dolled up' ** and drinking they went.
But they were too rowdy ***,
got kicked out bar looking pouty ****,
staggering o'er a sidewalk of...wet cement.

Sub-Sari **

I've often wondered what 'those 2' wear 'under'.
But I'd feared I'd make a big social blunder.
Is it Gandhi-brand knickers...,
which might prompt a few snickers?
I daren't *** peek, lest I'm deafened by thunder! !

around the body, traditionally worn by women from South Asia.

'Daren't' is a contraction of the phrase 'dare not' or 'dared not'

My Poem ** 'Manu And The Snake'

Manu was a boy who made a mistake,
and found himself disabled by a snake.
The snake's coils did wrap him,
his chance of rescue was slim.
Such a mistake he'll nevermore make.

** Note: Valsa George helped me with one or more
of the English words which I used in the poem (see title) ;
one word was 'tiffin', referring to a small meal/lunch or
a 'lunch box' used to carry a small meal/lunch.

He got down from the train with his baggage
Walked out through a dirty soiled passage
His attention was captured
By a bold lettered Placard;
‘KEEP THE TOWN CLEAN' atop piles of garbage
