Footprints Comments

Rating: 5.0

Every time I gazed, my footprints washed away,
Any sign of showing, I left it, unmistakably there.
Finally I decided to prod and press with all my might,
The white silvery sand; so to leave an impression;

I enjoyed this poem From the first verse onwards to the end. Thank you Roopa. Every time I waited, for the sea to kiss my feet. Each time she abandoned bubbles of foam sheet. Don’t stand stagnant at follies done and bygone. Every day like every tide, steers in new beginnings. Another break another chance, always come your way. wonderful reflection on the foot prints Roop and at the end a great philosophy of life. i get encouraged. after reading your poem, i want to go on come what may forgetting the past and to the future i stride on. thank you. tony

Your poem reminded me of an old black and white Malayalam classic movie in which the hero sings to the heroine: On the glittering sands spread for drying by the winds, you did write a poem with your foot-prints And when I rushed to see what you wrote, a big wave came and erased it from my sight.. I am on the seashore with your poem. And where are you, Roop? A fellow-poet's anguish against a merciless sea of time and change.

I enjoyed the poem from start to finish! Such easy and spontaneous flow of words and thoughts like the advancing and receding waves of the ocean! I could visualize the entire scene! But never anticipated that the spiked star fish would become a medium to unfold such a lofty message. Yes, waves of adversities will beat against the shore of life, but believe that another wave of chance comes in the wake. Falling is natural.......Failure is not falling down, but staying down! How effectively you have brought out this salient truth! Roopa, you are not in a hurry to fill your page with poems, but once you write, you WRITE! !

Life has teachings plenty. We hold some, we shed some. Mistakes are but human. No Winners without failures. Sometimes ever fading, sometimes forever shine; Because some of life’s moments are Like footprints - on the sands of time.........deeply and truely envisioned. An intensive poem so nicely depicted and wisely presented. I like this poem very much......10
