Foot Getting The Boot Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Foot Getting The Boot

In world of measures, change is afoot
In US; gone is their good old foot,
The two measures in use
Long left room to confuse,
That should have long back gotten the boot,
But, for reasons obtuse
Persisted were in use,
Some seem to go their ways, ears all mute!

US of A is always known to play its own bugle. It was for long persisting with its old measure of foot which was at variance with the International measure, though minutely so. But some of its States followed international measure as well to add to the confusion. Now it has fallen in line with its own foot getting a boot! Ah like the joker that said: I'm different!
