Foolish Whim Poem by Sandra Black

Foolish Whim

It was a foolish whim
To think I would be loved by him
He hath a heart of gold
And he spins yarns of old

Today it is me
But tomorrow he won't tarry
Another miss to ferry
Yet another to marry

A face that could make the clock stop
A face that could make the heart sing
Together forever?
Tis but a mindless whim

I wave him from my ivory tower
Tis my safe haven
Cause I know for me
There can be no heaven

I have been led
I have been fooled
He hath many a maiden fooled
My life he has until today ruled
