Fool Again Poem by Shierylle Barison

Fool Again

I cursed love for the pain it bestows.
And hate trust for the lies it chose.
Am I a fool, allowing you to tread,
So carelessly upon my heart, instead?

I've never learned from the lessons of old.
Believing you're different, your heart is made of gold.
I placed my trust without a second thought.
Only to find it's the same game I fought.
