Food Find Poem by Grace Diane Jessen

Food Find

Rating: 5.0

Five good friends met at a small cafe
for lunch and visiting one fine day.

Barb read the menu to see the fare;
not one piece of pizza listed there.

'No cook's choice cream soup for me, ' said June.
'I need a nap, please, and very soon.'

May moaned, 'I have to go to a store
and then meet Tom at or near four.'

'I have to fuel up the car, ' said McCall,
'It's by chance, really, that I'm here at all.'

Poor Becca kept staring at her nails.
'They ought to ban a nail biter, ' she wails.

'I spot a tornado heading this way.
Let's run for the celery now! ' yelled May.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I had so much fun trying to solve Kim Barney's puzzle poems that I was inspired to write one. Fifteen foods are mentioned in this poem puzzle, some obvious, some hidden. How many can you find? een

Try looking for a word that starts with the last letter of one word and finishes in the first letters to the next word. For example: BarB READ becomes bread. Have fun with it!
