Flowers On The Hill Poem by Mai Murphy Venn

Flowers On The Hill

Rating: 5.0

Clusters of beautiful flowers carpeting the trail outside the door.
Sadness is a shadow that covers the entrance where she lives.
Happy was this ray of sunshine, but she was not there anymore.

Her smile would light up the darkest night, her voice was like an angel's song
We lived beside each other on the hill, her mother, and this lovely child
December 1st came in like a tidal wave, she was no more, for she was gone.

That sorrowful recollection will be rooted in my mind, till the day I die.
She was just a child, full of life, happy, playful, gentle, and kind.
As a snow-white carriage carried her to her place of rest, I asked, why?

Very touching and melancholic poem yet a mark of respect for a young girl's untimely passing.
